Photobucket

This is Part 2 of the NYC 2009 Santacon pics. Part 1 is here: http://asseenbymenycholidayphotosbylee.blogspot.com/2010/01/nyc-santacon-santa-convention-2009-pics.html

And when Santas tire of museums where do they go? To the playground of course! :D

Photobucket

Of course they have to first take a bathroom break .....

Photobucket

and then they are free to play around! :D

This woman had to have the WARMEST blood! I am Way too sensitive to cold to ever go out like this. Lol! :D :D You Go Girl!

Photobucket

I Really LOVE this Santa Witch's hat! :D

Photobucket

"Santas on the move!"

Photobucket

Photobucket

Even sanitation workers stopped to take pictures and wave and honk hello! :D

Photobucket

Off to the subway we go ..... I just Love the look on people's faces as the mass of Santas walked by!

Those poor train passengers. The Santas were singing the off-colored Santacon jingles and having a jolly good time. Some of the passengers enjoyed the commotion, but some really didn't.

As I said in the part one Santacon post one of the things I didn't like about this year's Santacon was the fact that it was split up and people really didn't know where they were going. As I later found out most of the other Santas went to Washington Square Park, but those of us in this section thought that the convergence spot was where the 2008 Santacon started, so we all got off at 34th Street and headed over to Stout .....

..... where there definitely was a lot of partying going on! :)

I felt a bit sorry for the traffic that was trying to get by.

Now, I totally get the Christmas/Holiday Season connection for most of the non-Santa costumes like these ....

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

..... but there are other costumes, like Bunnies (isn't that Easter? :) ), Frogs, Bulls and Rubber Duckies, that I totally don't get. However, regardless if I got the connection or not, I LOVED them ALL!! :D :D Rock on with your bad selves!!

According to the adult that was with these children they were not officially part of the convention, but I just Loved their hats so, after getting the adult's permission to do so, I took their picture as well.

If it wasn't for the bare Barbie doll, which I totally don't understand its connection with the rest of the costume, this would have been my favorite outfit of the day because I LOVE The Transformers! Optimus Prime and Bumblebee ROCK!! :D :D

Four hours seems to be my limit because I left them around the same cutoff point last year. I hope next year the organizers go back to the old everyone-starts-at-the-same-starting-point format, but maybe NYC's Santacon has gotten too big to do that. Can't wait to see how the 2010 one turns out! :D

As I was leaving the convention to go take pictures of entries in a Gingerbread House Contest (pics to be posted soon) I saw this bunch of Lovely Women and Girls who were off to see the then just released Disney The Princess and The Frog. It put a HUGE smile on my face to finally see Little Real-Life Princesses who looked exactly like the Disney Princess. Kudos to Disney for finally creating Princess Tiana, their first African-American princess. :D
